Pet Surgery
Pet Surgery Available to Arlington Pet Owners Provided by a Skilled Veterinarian
Our Arlington veterinarian, Dr. Tim Cavanagh, founded All Creatures Veterinary Services here in Arlington back in 1981 with the aim of providing all levels of service to pet owners. Over the years we have expanded into a large full-service pet care, pet surgery, and veterinary facility.
When your pet needs surgical care, we are here to provide any type of surgery needed, from the beginning stages of taking x-rays and dog ultrasound to the surgery itself, such as ACL dog surgery. ACL, which stands for Anterior Cruciate Ligament, is a surgery that may be required when your pet tears the ligament in the lower part of the leg. This ligament is heavily important in normal walking, running, and general movement for dogs, since it involves the proper functioning of your dog's knee, and ACL dog surgery is something that our highly skilled veterinarian performs on a regular basis.
Total recovery from ACL surgery may take a couple of months, but your pet will be able to return home quickly. During this time, your pet will need to slowly re-acclimate to running and playing normally again. However, as soon as your pet has fully recovered, his range of movement will be just as good as it was prior to his injury.
From X-Rays to Pet Surgery, Arlington Veterinarian Focuses on Preventative Care and Quality Service
The surgeries most commonly performed by our Arlington veterinarian are spay and neuter surgeries. This pet surgery is far simpler now than it has ever been thanks to advancements in the veterinary field. Additionally, due to technology upgrades and the services our veterinarian and staff are able to provide, many abdominal symptoms in pets can be viewed and then treated via a dog ultrasound, a non-invasive procedure that allows for the fastest recovery time possible.
When your pet has been injured and the extent of the injury is uncertain, x-rays are an important part of determining how our veterinarian and staff will proceed with treatment. Our Arlington staff takes great care to make your pet as comfortable as possible during the examination process, during the x-rays, and before and after the surgical procedure.
We understand that pets will often be in pain, confused, and can become quite nervous when they come to the veterinarian office, so we to take great strides to calm your pet and give them the same type of gentle loving care that they receive at home with you.
Recovery from surgery will depend upon the surgical procedure, but many of the less complicated procedures, such as spay and neuter surgery, will take only a few hours and the pet may be free go the same day for at-home observation. We understand that your pet is a valued member of your family and feel our pet surgery patients are just as important as any human patients who are undergoing surgery, and we treat them as such.
